UnderSeoul – CHAPTER 1

Published January 28, 2012 by MieOppa

A thousand centuries ago, there was a kingdom co-inhabited by creatures ruled by the powerful Vampire clan who lives in the NN castle. This clan consists of 4 families: Kim, Park, Jo, and Son. Each family has a princess – Kim Jea, Park Narsha, Jo Miryo and Son GaIn – all of which possess different kinds of special powers.

Kim Jea, the eldest of them, holds the power of predicting the near future and the strength for battle. Park Narsha possesses perfect and irresistible beauty. Jo Miryo has the intelligence. Son Ga-In, the youngest among them, has the most mysterious power which is still unknown to everyone. Ga-In is known for being kind but very strict as well because she never tolerates injustice or people who do not do what they were assigned to do. These princesses, who have known each other for centuries, treat each other as sisters. They share a special bond that they thought can’t ever be broken by anything.

Serving the vampires are the brave and loyal wolves. They vowed to be at the vampires’ service after they agreed to be of help to the wolves in a war against the sorcerers. Since then, the wolves kept them safe from any harm. However, Kwon, one of the youngest member of the pack, has a relatively gentle feature which opposes the wolves’ general image of roughness. Because of this, he had been a laughing stock among the pack.

Kwon, who has minimal knowledge and skills with regard to fighting, is assigned in doing slave works inside the castle. Though being ridiculed by the other wolves, he enjoyed his work, which gives him a pass to see the only girl that makes his heart skip a beat: Princess Son Ga-In.

He knows that it’s quite impossible for the princess to even look at him, more so fall in love with him, that’s why he is very much contented whenever he has a chance to get a glimpse of the beautiful and warm princess.

“Yah, why do we even need to do this? I’m so tired already. I just want to walk around and check the gardens.” Narsha said while stubbornly swinging her sword.

“Me too. I still have lots of good books to read. I’d rather do that than tiring myself out here.” Miryo let out a deep sigh.

“Shut up you two. If you’re doing it right, you might be able to finish the training in no time. But you just keep on babbling and babbling.” Jea expertly swings her sword and made her trainer surrender.

“Just like what the kings said, we are the princesses. We…” Ga-In tried to explain.

“That’s the point! We are princesses. We have wolf soldiers around us all the time. We are already safe.”

“That’s not what I’m trying to say, Narsha unnie. Who knows, there may come a time when we are left alone and we might be in danger, at least we’d know how to defend ourselves on our own.” Ga-In carefully explained.

“Whatever. It’s still tiring.”

“Okay princesses, ten more minutes and we’re done!” shouted the chief military officer.

“Yah!” all four princesses did a sword slash that would be able to kill just about anything.

Although Narsha and Miryo might look unwilling to do the training, they are no joke when it comes to battle. All four of them were deemed “legendary” because of their ability to dominate the battles at such young age.

Princes from other far away kingdoms always try to get the princesses’ hearts, but none of them succeeded. It had been imperative that any prince who wanted to marry any of the princesses must defeat them in a battle.

“Do you think you can beat Princess Jea?” asked King Kim.

“I most certainly do your majesty.”

“Then let the battle begin!”

A little over 5 minutes, the prince passed out, not from getting hit by Jea, but from getting too nervous and scared because of her aura.

“We’ll never get married.” said Ga-In as he slumped on Narsha’s bed. They always hang out in Narsha’s room since it has a beautiful ambience.

“I don’t really mind. Besides, they said boys are just problems.” Miryo answered back.

“Still, I dream of a prince charming. Of course, I’d still want him to defeat me in a battle. It would be very weird if I’m stronger than him, wouldn’t it?”

At that moment, there was a knock on the door.

“Who is it?” asked Narsha.

“I have brought the snacks you requested, you highness.”

“You may come in.”

A wolf servant who has a less masculine physique than normal wolves entered the room with a tray of cookies and tea. His eyes sparkle as he entered. His sweet smell filled the room.

“Should I just put it here, your highness?” he asked as he beamed a smile to the princesses.

“Y…Yes” Ga-In said.

“Yah, who’s room is this, yours or mine?” Narsha looked at Ga-In confusingly. “No. Put it on the other table.”

“As you wish, your highness.” He walked a little further away from the princesses and put the food tray on the table that Narsha wanted.

“Do you still have any requests, your highness?” He asked.

“Hmm. I don’t think so. I will just let you know later if we still want anything else.”

They watched as he bowed and walked out of the room. Right after he closed the door, all their eyes was on Ga-In, who is still looking at the door. She smiled, and said…

“I think I’ve found my prince.”

UnderSeoul – New Prologue

“Help us, please.” their rough and tough physique seems to have melted because of their pleading. “We cannot do this alone.”

King Son never thought, even in his dreams, that the leader of the infamous wolf kingdom will kneel in front of him; more so, ask for the help of the vampire clan.

The notorious Sorcerer Clan had wanted to take over the Wolves’ territory since hundreds of years ago. While peace and harmony existed among the wolf pack, the sorcerers decided to take action and poisoned the wolves’ food with a new potion that they made. Almost half of the military wolves died helpless, and a lot of innocent members of the pack were severely hurt. Min, the pack leader, decided to ask for another clan to help them – the Vampire Clan.

Though vampires are known to be blood-drinkers and extremely violent, it wasn’t their true form. Yes, they drink blood, not from any human or any members of the other clans, but from wild animals in the forest. Their extreme violence can only be witnessed during wars from different clans who tried to take over their territory. As a matter of fact, the Vampire Clan had been the most peaceful and most united Kingdom there is when the four rulers decided to divide the running of the kingdom among them. King Kim, the eldest of them, decided to take the responsibility of training the military forces of the vampires. King Park, the second eldest, took over the task of keeping the vampire territory at its best shape. King Jo, the wisest of them, picked the business sector of the kingdom. And lastly, King Son, the most humble and kind-hearted vampire there is, taken over the administrative and judicial aspect. Kings Kim, Park, and Son all have sons while King Jo has a daughter, Mira.

“King Son, let them give us something in exchange if we will offer our help to them.” King Jo said.

“Okay then. If the vampire clan will help you, how will you pay us back?” declared King Son.

“On behalf of the remaining wolves there is, we vow to be your servants, slaves, and guards for the rest of our lives including the future wolf generation.” Min toughened his face, as if showing the Kings that what he just said is true.

“It is a good deal. But we have to have this vow sealed.” King Kim suggested.

“Then, let the wisest of the kings decide how to seal the vow.” King Park gestured towards King Jo.

There was silence. After King Jo stated his condition for the seal of the vow, there were loud gasps everywhere.

******************************************************************

It was a battle of brains over strength, potions over power. A silent war had emerged, two versus one. The currently weak wolf pack, backed up by the ever so powerful vampires, against the wicked but intelligent sorcerers.

In the middle of the silent night, within just a matter of time, strength overpowered brains. Lifeless beings scattered on the land of the dark magic. It was the end of the sorcerers, whose bodies turned into ashes and flames. But, unknown to the vampires and the wolves, a pair of burning eyes is looking at them from afar, with pain and anger in her heart.

“We will seek revenge.”

UnderSeoul – Original Prologue

Published January 14, 2012 by MieOppa

The war within the castle was inevitable when Park clan decided to take over and  rule the Kingdom of NN.

They’ve been secretly planning for over few hundred years but because of the other 3 families; Kim, Jo and Son who were too strong for them to go against, they had  to get help to add more army on their side.

And with the help and support that they get from the other vampire clans outside their country, they are ready to launch an attack against the Kingdom.

While the other three families are struggling to fight with all their strengths in protecting the castle, the Werewolf clan who have been a loyal servant to Kingdom of NN, came to render their help.

Being the youngest vampire in the Son clan, Princess Gain had to use all of her energy to fight and eliminate all of their enemies when Narsha, the princess from Park clan betrayed their friendship and was hiding behind the pillar, aiming and getting ready to kill her.

Fortunately, the werewolf slave known as Kwon saw her intention. In order to protect Gain, he ran and rushed towards her, making him to get shot and hurt his shoulder.  Gain was caught by surprised, seeing him jumping out from nowhere and took the arrow for her.

“Are you alright? Why did you protect me for?” she asked in a worried tone as she pulled him away to safety.

“I don’t want you to get hurt and lose you.” he confessed to her.

Kwon’s sudden revelation caught her by surprise and it made her feels awkward. Just when she was about to tell him how she feels, Narsha took another step in making an attack by ordering her army to catch Princess Gain.

Left with no other choice but to escape, she brought Kwon together with her. As the next successor to the throne and because of the prophecy that was revealed when she was a baby, Gain became the main target.

Park clan used to be close with Son clan and therefore, they are the only one who knows about her future being the ruler of NN and that will make Son clan more powerful under her ruling. Adding to that, the royal sorcerer who is from the Kim clan, Eana predicted and saw in her vision that Gain’s other half will be a werewolf.

“Don’t let them get away! I want Princess Gain…. dead or alive! Find them and bring her to me!” Narsha gave her order to the army of vampires.

Riding on a horse with Kwon at the back, they ran away into the woods far, far away from the Kingdom. After a few miles away and making sure that it’s safe, Gain stopped and got off from the horse. Looking at his wound, she needs to find a place for him to rest and hide.

Roaming around the woods, finally she found an empty deserted hut. Putting Kwon’s hand over her shoulder, she helped him to walk to the hut and lay him on the wooden floor slowly.

“I think this will be the safest place for now. Let’s take a break here and have a look at your injury.”

Kwon could only nods to her suggestion.

Having the arrow being pulled from his shoulder gently, Kwon clenched his teeth bear the excruciating pain. After having it pulled successfully, Gain cleaned and bandaged his wound. Feeling tired and because of the throbbing pain, Kwon fell asleep. Gain sat next to him and starts to think about their next step to survival.

It’s already nightfall when Kwon woke up and saw her looking out at the window with a worried expression plastered on her face. Watching her quietly, he can’t help but to admire the beauty that the princess possessed and it only make him falls for her more.

Gain noticed that someone have been staring at her and looked at his direction…..

“Are you feeling better now? Does it still hurt?” Gain asked him with a voice full of concern.

Pushing himself up slowly and gently, he stood up and shook his head. Finding it unbelievable to have the princess standing in front of him, he can’t find the right word to reply her.

“Thank you for saving me. I don’t know what else to say or give besides my gratitude.” Gain showed her appreciation for his action earlier that day.

“It’s my responsible to keep you safe and alive, my princess. I’m glad that you are alright now.” Kwon reassured her.

Feeling uncomfortable with the awkward silent between them, Gain decided to ask him……

“About the incident earlier……after they shot you, about what you said to me…..do  u really meant it?” staring at him,  she waited and was anticipating for his answer.

Startled with her question, Kwon kept quiet and was contemplating if it’s alright for him to confess his feelings for her for it’s not the right time. The war has just begun.

“Yes, my princess. I really meant for all the words that I’ve said to you.”

Kwon was shocked by the words that came out from his mouth. That’s not what he wanted to say in his mind… Those are the words of his heart and it just flowed out from his lips without any second thought.

“I fall in love with you since the first time I saw you. I know it’s not right for me to have that feelings for you because we are different, not only in clan but in status too. But I really want to be with you, Princess Gain.”

Standing there, not knowing what and how to react, Gain could only stare at him. Kwon felt really anxious about how she will react on this but there were none. Feeling embarrassed, he turned and walked out from the hut.
